@@stephengeorge447 🤣 I missed a trick there
Good seeing you mark thanks for putting me and Ruben in the vid👊🏻
@@dirt.slaves you're welcome 😊
Brilliant news a very good xc destination we don’t expect big drops and black trails at pines plenty of that elsewhere with the up then down Sherwood pines is the king of woodland singletrack and a brilliant destination for it. And very good for the kids just starting out
I had one yesterday at tornado. Young lads pushing back up the trail to have another go🙄🤣 best of it. Not a single helmet in sight…
All too familiar sight after the bike park too😐
Doesnt look to me like it should be classified as red. That was blue at best. I only saw one techical part. Maybe the video just didnt do it justice for terain etc ill check it out. But looked a little weak.
@@riff_master its red only in the context of everything else that is there. Compared to most trail centres, the red is very easy and more aimed at xc. If you're looking for steep, technical sections other trail centres are available 😉
Yo I saw you down pines my dad Is the one with an ebike it's my birthday and I'm board so watching your videos
Happy birthday 😊
I did the optional red loop on that section last Wednesday. I ended up going around it twice as I missed the sign to turn left to cross back over Eakring Road. Thought I was going mad 😂😂. I'll give the blue section a go next time I'm there. It's good they've got rid of the blue/red conflict as the majority on the red, never keep to the left bit of track when going down the hill 😅
🤣 the end bit used to be part of the blue route a few years ago. Its much better now as part of the red
For some reason I got lost and did the same bit twice D0
I almost missed one of the signs
We were there on Sunday. Its a great trail. Given its relatively flat there they’ve done a really good job.
Got back from Cannock yesterday. Their as much straight line In Sherwood as their is berms at Cannock. Lol 😂😂😂
Cool. I'm on a weeks holiday at the moment. I'll check those red and blue trails tomorrow morning sometime. Thanks for the info mate.
wow what a trail definitely checking it out love the content
@@Ocieece Thank you 😊
We don’t need another blue bit we need a black trail
It would be 👌
95% of MTB'ers are regular people riding XC. Only minority ride bike park and black. Just sayin
@TimCmtb21 I'd say a large majority visit and ride the bike park judging by the numbers I see there every week. As for black trails, that's probably why we don't see riders visiting looking for more of a challenge.
@@Mark_Page_MTB personally I think sherwood is probably the worst trail centre in terms of how easy it I’ve been to but it’s still good to go out for a quick ride I just hope the get more technical features in the red
@Samuel_Conchie I think it all depends why people go. If its a family ride or beginner ride its perfect. If you're wanting a good workout its great. If you're looking for death steep tech, you've probably come to the wrong place🤣 I'd say most riders who are at a reasonable level know what's on offer here and go where best suites their needs. Hopefully the videos give those who haven't been before or for a while a good idea of what to expect 🙂
I didn’t know there was a new trail
Neither did I until yesterday
I went yesterday bikes going wrong way up red and the walking dead as well
Only another 6 weeks of it🤣
Wish there were more similar features around pines. Surely there are opportunities elsewhere in the forest for the FC to expand. The amount of visitors they get coming through the car park at a weekend……
They've just added a new optional red and blue loop, which is a nice addition. Nothing like Tornado but a welcome addition 🙂
Scares the living daylights out of me still haven't done it well in though mate
@@scousebikers its one of those that looks way scarier than it is. Wish they'd hurry up and rebuild it

You should have said hi mate. Never say never mate. I was in the same boat as you and never thought I would. It's mind over matter, that's all 😊
@Mark_Page_MTB next time I will 👍 I have been trying to do the far right tables like you got your friend to do managing to clear them now... just need to keep at it but hard to get there more than a few times a week as I come from lincoln

Hi mate, where did you get the red coloured tape on your bars? Are they just for decorative purposes?
Available from all good DIY stores 🤣It's just electrical tape and was originally put on just to hide scratches on the bars but it's what i've now become famous for 😁
Is this a somewhat new trail it looks pretty good ? Last time I looked Sherwood had almost 0 features on its trails
Yeah, it had some work done earlier this year. By far the best section here.
Great video Mark mate
Cheers mate ☺ Wish it was that long really 🤣
@@Mark_Page_MTB it would be mint if it was, it’s still a mega trail though 😆
Where is this mate?
Vicar Water Country Park at the start then down into Sherwood Pines
Ah. There it is. I've just found my stopwatch. You going to have to do it again. Just like that race at grenoside. You will have to get a group of lads. Then do a time trail. Just for fun mind. Lol😅
@@markmoss1035 ⏱
Ah, I'll have to try that. If I go backwards, by the time I see the gap, I'm already there. Yeah, great idea. Thanks 😂😂😂😂
@@markmoss1035 🤣
Looks a little bit out of my skill set. I'll stick to cannock. Unless your thinking of doing a subscribers ride there. 😅😅
@@markmoss1035 😂 it's not really a place for a subscribers ride. Be patient 🤣

Cool video. 😅
I quit Strava 3 years ago because it is nothing but social media poison. It deprives you of all the really fun things about sports/life. You forget to enjoy sports. Strava is junk . This also applies to all other sports apps
I like Strava. I like seeing my progression and seeing how I compare with my friends but for me it's all light-hearted fun. I don't stress if I don't set a PB, sometimes I'm just going for a cruisy ride. What I don't like about Strava is the fact that the developers haven't fixed any of the longstanding issues. They are complacent. I can't wait for a new developer to come along that says "We can do this better" and then blows Strava out of the water. Their software sucks but they are the only one doing it so they have no desire to improve.
@@The.JZA. Great feedback and thanks for commenting 😊I'm surprised Google haven't come up with something better than strava by now. You're right, it could offer so much more.
I've been riding e-bikes for about 3.5 years and I have noticed a slow decline in overall strength and fitness so I decided to buy an analogue bike. I will still keep my e-bike but I will ride my analogue bike as well to try to build up some strength and fitness and get back to the condition I was in a few years ago.
All the lads i ride regularly with have Ebikes and slowly but surely they now all ride analogue bikes the majority of the time. If you have the time and can put the miles in, analogue will definitely make you fitter. If you're short on time, Ebikes are a great way of keeping active and having lots of fun. Do what ever works for you and gives you the most enjoyment 😊
I ride road bikes as well as MTB and I find the Strava effect is even worse and more polarised in road bike circles. Constantly trying to improve watts, mileage, FTP etc made it less enjoyable as it felt every ride was becoming a high intensity training session. I’ve tried to go back to the beginning and even bought cheaper, older, less sophisticated bikes to remember the the enjoyment I used to have 20 years ago when we didn’t seem to be chasing our tails so much but the mind set has embedded itself too deeply. I have accumulated mileage on my Strava and I will feel bad if I don’t hit my yearly mileage target……….think I ought to turn Strava off for a while but I must admit, I do like to see where I’ve been and finding new places to ride. I’m my own worst enemy but I do also enjoy being reasonably fit. It’s like being some sort of addict but there are worse things you can do, so just enjoy the riding for what it is. Ride fast or ride slow. Just don’t get too accustomed to the settee as that will kill you.
There is no right or wrong with this, only what's right for you but you are dead right, it's addictive be that good or bad. Enjoy the riding, that's the main thing and do whatever works for youto keep you smiling 😊
I never use strava. I just ride to ride and have fun.
@@kevinburke1325 a great way to be😊
Great video.
I gave up on Strava segments years ago when I realised I was becoming "that guy" barging walkers and riders out of the way, in my self-indulged quest to set a good segment time. I still use Strava now, but only as a diary of where I've been and so friends can see any photos or videos I've left to help share the enjoyment of the moment, and that's way more important and fulfilling.
@@crispinellisdon That’s so true about “that guy”. Getting annoyed and frustrated at slower riding in front of me slowing me down. Using it as only a diary is good advice. Thank you. 🤙🏼
Strava whore? Thats what my mate calls himselve 😂😂😂😂 me i just use it to clock my miles i aint trying to beat anyone whos outthere on a sur ron 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent video. I totally relate to this. Being with people who are constantly chasing KOM's. It puts you off riding and is dangerous. You are right. Ride for pleasure no matter what skill level you are at and enjoy being outside. Whether you do an all-day adventure or only do 5 miles. It is better than being sat at home on the settee. Enjoy.
@@mickhayton2571 I think I’m gonna just have to have a chilled ride one day. 👍
I’ve been sat behind a desk for my whole adult life without much exercise before I started biking. Biking was great fun but you’d go to somewhere like watchwood and only get a handful of runs in before I’m out of energy and making mistakes due to tiredness. Having an e-bike has properly accelerated my progression just because I’m able to stay out for longer, do more runs before keeling over. Popping it in a low setting still gets my HR into the top end if I want the workout, but it’s increased the fun and progression tonnes.
Hi Mark great video. Today I went out on my emtb with two guys on their MTB I kept it in eco all 31 mile and we were pretty evenly matched bar the uphill bits which I had the advantage but I covered the full 31 mile and still had 2 bars left of battery and it did open their eyes to them. As my legs were but o g at the same points as theirs were. But as I said they won’t be out again for 3-4 days where as I’ll be out again tomorrow. Bet yes my legs are starting to burn right now. 👍 keep em going mate 👍
Cheers mate, much appreciated 😊
I must apologise when I said “E.bike wankers.” I know there is a stigma about it not being “real biking”. But I’ve been on them and they are tons of fun..👍
Firstly, forget Strava. There are other apps out there to log rides and hikes that are less competitive and secondly get an ebike. I have a Specialized Turbo Levo and I haven’t looked back. It’s a slightly different experience to a standard bike so you’ll enjoy the learning curve and as Mark says, you’ll get loads more riding in. There’s no shame in being an ebike wanker lol 👍 x
Brilliant interview. Something different and a bonus with the butterfly. Well done Dr Page. Look out for my next video. I might need psychiatric help. 🤪
🤣
Do I sound like that ??😂
@@grahamwood5 yes you do 😂 down to earth and honest mate😉
